A memorial service was held Tuesday for Leland resident Henry B. Kinzie, who died July 24 at Leelanau Memorial Health Center. He was 80.
Mr. Kinzie was born in Detroit on April 13, 1919, the son of Julian Magill and Marguerito (Flower) Kinzie. On Sept. 14, 1946, in Grosse Pointe Farms, he married Anne H. Gard, who survives.
Mr. Kinzie was a salesman and co-owner of a manufacturers representative's organization. He was a member of Yondetega Club of Detroit, Leland Country Club, Leland Yacht Club, former president of the Country Club of Detroit and a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Traverse City. He served in the National Guard starting in 1940, and had active service in the Pacific until his discharge as a captain in the Army.
Also surviving are two sons, Thomas Y. Kinzie of Las Vegas, Nev., and William M. (Marle) Kinzie of Traverse City; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Julian.
Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery.
