Michael J. LaHoda Sr.
Michael J. LaHoda Sr., 92, husband of the late Mary (Breslawski) of Stowe, PA, died on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Pottstown.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John and Eva (Bakalar) LaHoda.
Mr. LaHoda had first worked for eight years at the Berkshire Knitting Mill in Reading.
He then worked as a truck tire builder for Firestone Tire & Co. for 34 years until his retirement in 1980.
Mr. LaHoda was a member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 425 West Walnut Street, Pottstown.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. LaHoda was a member of the West End Fire Co. of Stowe, the Tin Can Alley of the U.S.S. Taylor #468 and the Firestone Retirees.
Surviving are two sons, Michael J. LaHoda Jr, husband of Mary Ellen, of Prospect Park, and John J. LaHoda, husband of Stacey, of Chalfont; two daughters, Catherine E., wife of Joseph Gates, of Sarasota, Florida, and Mary Ellen, wife of Edward Wilson, of Gilbertsville; a brother, Paul LaHoda, husband of Pauline, of West Lawn; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church on Thursday at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Douglassville.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 High Street, Pottstown, PA.
