British Royalty. Born at the Palazzo Muti in Rome, Italy the son of James Francis Edward Stuart, 1st and last Duke of Cornwall and Marie Casimire Clementine Sobieski. He was also known as Henry Benedict Maria Clement Thomas Francis Xavier Stuart and held the office of Cardinal of York. He was appointed Cardinal Deacon in June 1747. He became Cardinal of Santa Maria, Portici in July 1747. A pretender to the British throne in succession to his brother, he was called King Henry IX of Great Britain by Jacobites from January 1788. He died at age 82 at Frascati, Italy and was buried at St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City, Vatican (findagrave.com)
