Neta Stoddard Nelson went home to be with her loved ones on October 9, 2012. She was born in Shelley on September 17, 1937 to Wilford and Ireta Stoddard.
Neta loved to be with family and with coming from a family of 16, it was a good thing. She would regale all with the antics what they did as kids. She was the tenth child of the Stoddard Clan.
Neta married Alan Smith and moved to Tacoma, Washington where they had four children, DeAnna Robbins of Tooele UT, Becky Nay of Spokane WA, Jeff (Colleen) Smith of Saratoga Springs UT, and Lisa Myers of Ortting WA.
During their time in Tacoma Neta worked as a CNA in a nursing home and later in the kitchen. When she returned to Shelley she worked at French's and helped the family by babysitting the nieces and nephews. She then moved to Utah so that she could be closer to family. For a time she lived in Oregon to assist her ailing sister, Darleen. In her later years Neta returned to Shelley to be with family. She loved to be with her grand children and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her children she is survived by sisters: Violet Cox, Hamilton MT, Delpha (Don) Beck, Blackfoot, Connie Bumgarner, Firth, Louise Stoddard, Pocatello and brothers: Fred (Sandra) Stoddard, Idaho Falls, Martin (Linda) Stoddard, Woodville, Denny (LaRue) Stoddard, Jameston, children: DeAnna Robbins Tooele, UT, Becky Nay Spokane WA, Jeff (Colleen) Smith Saratoga Springs, UT, and Lisa Myers Ortting, WA, also twelve grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
