GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - Ms. Jean S. Gay, entered into rest Saturday, January 18, 2003, in the Pepper Hill Nursing Center in Aiken. Family members are two sons, Albert George Gay of Washington Courthouse, Ohio and Raymond Malcolm Gay of Graniteville; one daughter, Wanda Lee Gay of North Augusta; one brother, Royes Salmon of Knoxville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Ms. Gay was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Jean Ott Salmon, and her two brothers, Albert Salmon and Frank O. Salmon. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2003, at 3 p.m. in the Pineview Memorial Gardens with Father Kurt Miller officiating. Family and friends will meet at the grave. Ms. Gay was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was a homemaker and a retired Legal Secretary, she was of the Episcopal faith, a member of the Eastern Star and the Augusta Choral Society. Her interest included choir and writing and her achievements were being a lead soprano and a red cross volunteer. The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m. at the Poteet Funeral Home, 529 Greene Street. 722-7744.
