Dorothy Jennie Hunt, longtime resident of Winslow died peacefully Monday, July 24 at her home.
Dorothy was born Dec. 3, 1916 in Saint Joseph to Aurther Leslie and Jennie Bailey. She married Richard Sheldon Hunt Jan. 14, 1944. Dorothy worked at the Grand Canyon as an original Harvey Girl at the Bright Angel Lodge. She and Sheldon owned and operated Hunt's Feed and Supply and were the leaders of the original 4-H Wranglers horse group. Dorothy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved doing genealogy. Dorothy loved being around people and visiting with friends and relatives. She loved to travel and did a lot of it selling and trading Indian jewelry all over the western United States.
She is survived by her two brothers, Leslie (Mary) Bailey of Black Canyon City and Donald Bailey of Hemet, Calif.; her children, Richard Hunt and Leslie (Charlie) Brewer, both of Winslow. She has 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband and friend Sheldon, and her parents.
