Stella Rowley Davies, 87, passed away on June 18, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. She resided at 648 East Markea Avenue (250 South) in the Downtown district of Salt Lake City, Utah at the time of her death.
Born January 13, 1924 in Mountain Home, UT to Clyde and Lillias Mecham Rowley. Married Delbert Davies on July 24, 1946; later solemnized in the SL LDS Temple.
Stella loved horses and would rather be outdoors helping her dad rounding up their cattle. She loved gardening, feeding birds and other animals. She was a very loving and giving person who was always willing to help others.
Stella was hardworking and very frugal. Active member of the LDS Church serving in various positions. She loved to read and study her scriptures daily along with all church publications.
Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, LeRoy, Floyd, and Lloyd; daughter, Rhea; granddaughter, JoAnn; and great-granddaughter, Aubrey. Survived by daughter, Leslie Sharp, Rochester, WA; grandson, Lynn Gates, St. George, UT; Granddaughters, LeAnn Gutke, West Valley City; UT; Jeri Bernier (Andre); Ogden, UT and Teresa Justice (Rick) Tumwater, WA; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Grace Farnsworth, Raft River, ID; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and interment will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), where friends may call one hour prior to the services. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Steet.
