Goodrich, Edward Bruce

Johnson City: In spite of countless wonderful memories and the certainty of a future together in heaven, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother, father and friend on February 25th, 2014 to his eternal home with Jesus. Edward was born July 16th, 1933 in Johnson City where he lived his entire life, except for a term in the Army in Aberdeen, Maryland. Many will remember him as owner of Goodrich Implement, selling tractors and equipment on Harry L. Drive; from his passion for polkas, horses and auctions of all types; and as a member of the Johnson City Masonic Lodge and Kalurah Shrine for over 50 years. Predeceased by his parents, Elwin and Lucille Goodrich, sisters Barbara (Bill) Turnpenny and Alma (Chuck) Reid, brother-in-law Roger Everitt, and precious granddaughter Loralee Goodrich. Ed is survived by the love of his life and faithful wife of sixty years, Joan (Terwilliger); sisters Lorna Everitt (Dave Hettig) and Melinda (Dave) Ingalls; sister-in-law Claudia (Steve) Deliman, children Sharon Jane (Alan) Davies and Edward Jr. (Kathy); grandchildren Stacy (Justin) Smith, Evan, Kaylee, Chad and Alissa Goodrich and great-grandson Luke Smith.

Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Elizabeth Church Manor who made Ed's battle with Alzheimer's disease a little more bearable. Sincere appreciation to the employees of Goodrich Implement who continue to give their loyal support through these difficult days. Thank you to the many family and friends, including our pastors who offered continuous love and encouragement during this long and painful good-bye. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11am at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc. 428 Main Street Johnson City. The Rev. Mark Kimpland, pastor of the Endwell United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Barber Memorial Home.
