The 1790 Watertown, Ct. census lists a David, perhaps the same person (Heads of families at the first census of the U.S. in the year 1790. Baltimore : Genealogical Pub. Co., 1980, pg. 76). Resided in Berlin, Ct. (Browning). Tombstone verifies his name as Daniel.

He practiced law from 1804 to 1841 in Berlin, Ct. and lived at 825 Worthington Ridge, which was constructed during 1804. His office was in his yard. He joined the Berlin Congregational Church 1818. Daniel was Town Clerk and Treasurer from 1825-1832. Buried in South Cemetry, part of Maple Cemetery. (Letter from Ann W. Borthwick, Peck Memorial Library (Berlin, Ct.) dated 5/1/1999, which lists him as Daniel. Also Daniel in Case, Lafayette Wallace. The Goodrich family : a genealogy..." Chicago : Fergus Pub. His tombstone reads "Friend of the fatherless and widow."
