Rev John Graham was born to Andrew and Jane Masters Graham in Armaugh, Ireland.
He entered an academy in Ireland at the age of 11, he studied logic and philosophy. At age 13 he entered the University of Glasgow and graduated in 1711 at age 17.
He received his education in Glasgow and also studied medicine. But his call to the ministry would be his destiny. Coming to this country in August 11,1718, landing in Boston. He then resided in Exeter, New Hampshire. He was the first clergyman of Stafford, Connecticut but found little success and was dismissed in 1731. After moving to the second church of Southbury (then Woodbury) he would spend the next 40 years of his life. He was very active in the Great New England Revivial of 1740 and was the author of " A Ballad Againt the Church of England in Connecticut".

Love Sanborn, died March 1, 1725 in Stafford Springs, Connecticut.

John married Abigail Chauncey in September 1726 and they raised additional children:
