I Edward Dunscomb, of the City of Nashville, State of Tennessee, being of sound mind and memory, do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following:
First that all property of every Kind and nature held by me in trust for my wife Cecile Grofschopf Dunscomb return to her own name right and management for all such property is her own, obtained by her own labor & was put in trust in my name for convenience of transfer and in case of her death before my death that I be unshackled in its appropriation for my own use.
In addition to property in my name in trust for Cecile G. Dunscomb is property solely in my name, among such the franchise and lease of Jackson Oil & Mining Co. Tennessee - also Overton Oil & Mining Co. Overton Co. Ten: with leases assigned to me by John (Ruhm?) (gc?) (gc?) also numerous Oil & Mineral leases also procured and paid for with the money of my wife said Cecile G. Dunscomb and are hers, but which I now formally will and devise to her also any and all other property, real, personal, & of every Kind I now own or may hereafter possess. Justice demands that I proclaim that I am in large money indebtedness to my wife, Cecile G. Dunscomb, therefore all I now possess of any Kind of property and all I may hereafter become possessed of, I devise will and bequeath to my wife said Cecile G. Dunscomb for her sole use and disposal as to her seem best.
I hereby appoint my wife Cecile G. Dunscomb at present of the City of Nashville & State of Ten: sole executrix under this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this 25th day of May AD. 1880.

The foregoing instrument one half sheet was at the date thereof signed sealed, published and declared by said Edward Dunscomb for his last will and testament in presence of us, who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as witness thereto.

Codicil of explanation Nashville, Tenn Sept 19th 1881. Since writing proceeding, my wife Cecile G. Dunscomb has bought several houses & for convenience the deeds are made to Mrs. Cecile G. Dunscomb & to her husband Edward Dunscomb, each & either of them, & to the survivor; this is done that if the houses on any of them be sold during my life time I can transfer without trouble to her, & in case of death of either - not necessary to pass through the Courts of law of surrogates office, the survivor can immediately sell the houses, & all other property in my name are solely hers, also the Bank account in my name, I really own not anything - she owns all
signed and sealed in our presence.

Davidson County Court February Tenn 1895
Of paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Edward Dunscomb decd was produced in open Court and proved thus: N. L. Claiborne and Edgar Jones the subscribing witnesses thereto being first duly sworn, depose and say that the (sic) became such at the request and in the presence of the testator and they verily believe that he was of sound and disposing mind and memory at the time of executing the same.
And at the same time a codicil was produced to said will and proved thus:
W.N. Scoggins and Edgar Jones the subscribing witnesses thereto being first
duly sworn depose and say that they became such at the request and in the presence
of the testator and they verily believe he was of sound and disposing mind and
memory at the time of executing the same.
Ordered by the Court that said paper writing with the codicil thereto be
admitted to record as the last will and testament of Edward Dunscomb
deceased.
