William de Chauncy, age 20 on May 7, 1309, in the 2nd year of the reign of King Edward II when he did his homage on the death of his father, Thomas de Chauncy, held in addition to the barony of Skirpenbeck the manor of Willoughton, from his mother Isabel, as well as the manors of Hogham, Camelstown, Bugthorp and Thoralby.
William de Chauncy died in 1344 in the 17th year of the reign of King Edward III, at which time he was succeeded by his son and heir Thomas de Chauncy. Though no marker survives, he is likely buried in the churchyard of St. Mary parish in Skirpenbeck.
