Philo Burritt served in the Commissary Department of US Volunteers. He is a typical all around man, a farmer by occupation, a devoted husband, loving father, trusted and respected neighbor. Has been elected and re-elected to the State Legislature. That he has been a good financier is evident now by his being able to live without care. Since the marriage of his daughter and the death of his wife he goes where and when he pleases unrestricted by any thought of means (The family of Blackleach Burritt Jr.)
