Mrs. Buchwald To Be Buried This Saturday
Mrs. Florence Buchwald, 82, formerly of 404 N. 1st St. died at the Tama Nursing Home early Wednesday, where she had beena patient since 1953. Services will be from the Estel-Perrin Funeral Home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in charge of the Rev. Robert Mac Canon, pastor of Grace Evangelical United Bretheren Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Born Florence Burritt, Dec 5, 1881, in Marshall County, she was the daughter of Judge Blackleach and Lottie Brooks Burritt. She received her education and grew to womanhood in this community.
About 1902, she was united in marriage to Fred J. Buchwald and they had always resided in Marshalltown. Mrs. Buchwald was a member of Grace Evangelican United Bretheran Church.
Preceding her in death were two brohters and two half sisters. Surviving are 10 children. Freeman and Walter C. Buchwald, both of Marshalltown, Mrs. Earl (Elaine) Hayes, Mrs. Don (Florence) Fry, both of Dixon, Calif, Mrs. Lyle (Hazel) Winters, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Dudley of Vallejo, Calif, Mrs. Robert (Doris) LePlant, Fairfield, Calif, Mrs. Vernnon (Alice) Miller, Covina, Calif., Glen Buchwald, Pasadena, Calif, and Byron Buchwald of Salt Lake City. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and a half sister, Mrs. Jake Wittel, Marshalltown.
