Death of Frank Doan

Frank B. Doan, who has been ill for several months, died Saturday, December 8, at his home in Winterset, at the age of 45 years. Mr. Doan was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Doan, and was born in Patterson. When he was 6 months of age he was stricken with spinal meningitis, which left him an invalid. In spite of his suffering he enjoyed life and was devoted to his mother, whom he was able to assistat times. Nine weeks ago his condition became much worse, and he has been confined to his bed constantly. It is said that he was conscious until the last and that he was ever kind to those who assisted him in his care.

He leaves besides his mother, Mrs. Wm. Doan, two brothers, M.M. and W.A. Doan of Winterset, three sisters, Mrs. E.T. Knowles, of Carlisle; Mrs. F.M. Sowash, of Osceola, and Mrs. C.A. Clark, of Barney.

The Rev. F. Clare McCallon conducted the funeral services at the home, Monday afternoon, December 10 at two o'clock and burial was made in the Union Chapel Cemetery (findagrave.com)
