Virginia Harrell Jarrett, 90, of Bassett went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke. Virginia was born in Henry County, on September 1, 1923 the daughter of the late Roy Gilbert Harrell, Sr., and the late Bessie Wheeler Harrell. In addition she was preceded in death by brothers, Billy Harrell, Graham Harrell, David Harrell and Garland Harrell; sisters, Ilene Plybon, Louise James and Faye Curry. Virginia was a member of Fort Trial Baptist Church and retired from Fieldcrest Mills.
Surviving are her loving husband of 69 years, Claude Jarrett of the home, daughter, Connie Gilley of Collinsville; son, Michael Jarrett of Richmond, sister, Inis Coleman of Collinsville, brother, Roy Harrell of Martinsville. In addition she is survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday November 24. 2013 from 4-6 p.m. in the chapel of Bassett Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 25, 2013 at 12 noon in the chapel of Bassett Funeral Service with Dr. Joey McNeill and Rev. Tony Beach officiating.
