Martinsville Bulletin - (2-4-2006) - The funeral for William "Bill" Harrison Harrell, 71, of 61 Fourth St., Fieldale, who died Wednsday, Feb. 1, 2006, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Norris Funeral Services with the Rev. Bud Sedwick officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Abbey.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time for the service, and other times at the home in Fieldale.
Harrell was born in Fieldale on Sept. 10, 1934, to Roy Gilbert Harrell Sr. and Bessie Wheeler Harrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ileen Plybon, Louise James and Faye Curry; and three brothers, Graham Harrell, Garland Harrell and David Harrell.
He worked as an electronic technician for the former Tultex Corp., and for many years was self-employed as a TV repairman. He was a member of the Fieldale Lions Club and Fieldale Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Draper Ferrell of the home; three sons, Timothy Harrison Harrell of Sandy Ridge, N.C., Jason Draper Harrell and Kelley Gilbert Harrell, both of Fieldale; two sisters, Inis Coleman of Collinsville and Virginia Jarrett of Bassett; a brother, Roy Gilbert Harrell Jr. of Martinsville; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
