May Ferrell Vencill Bucklen
Mrs. May Ferrell Vencill Bucklen, age 85, of Pounding Mill, VA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday March 19, 2005 following a brief illness. Born on July 25, 1919 in Buchanan County, VA she was the daughter of the late Mack & Mary Horn Ferrell. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister & Friend to many.
She attended the Cedar Bluff Community Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband Carson R. Vencill and three brothers Bascomb Ferrell, Billy Ferrell & Mack Ferrell, Jr. and a son-in-law Clarence Wyrick.
Mrs. Bucklen is survived by her loving husband of 16 years Mr. John L. Bucklen
Two daughters Mrs. Don (Marie) Jones of Elberon, VA and Mrs. Leon (Helen) Custalow of West Point, VA
Two sons Ralph Vencille & wife Nan of Ceres, VA and Jerry Vencill of Thompson Valley, VA
One sister Mrs. Jeanette Barrett of Smithfield, VA
Grandson Michael L. Vencille & wife Lisa of Ceres, VA
One nephew Douglas Barrett
Two maternal step grandchildren Leon Custalow & wife Leigh Ann and Vicky Custalow
Four maternal step great grandchildren Emma, Matthew, Josie & Dalton
Special grandmother to Dr. Tamara Davis & Jaime Davis
Three step daughters Mrs. Marlene Compton, Mrs. Betty Bucklen and Wanda Hicks
4 paternal Step Grandchildren, 7 paternal step great grandchildren and 2 paternal step great great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. May Ferrell Vencill Bucklen will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday March 22, 2005 in the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, VA with Evang. Oden Lockhart, Rev. Bill Shook and Dr. Don Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be Family & Friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clarence Whitt, James L. Davis, Kyle Reynolds, Jimmy Mullins and Curt Smith.
