Betty Carol Bucklen, age 69 of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 following a lengthy illness. Born October 19, 1943 she was the daughter of the late John L. and Thelma Kathleen (Fay) Cole Bucklen. She was a retired employee of Mattie Williams Hospital, receiving the Ward Secretary of the Year 1980. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church at Bandy, Virginia.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Junior Mullins; her second husband, Larry Dye and one great-granddaughter, Destiny Nicole Jones.

She is survived by two sons, Johnny E. Mullins of Cedar Bluff, VA and Jimmy D. Mullins and wife Teresa of McGuire Valley, Cedar Bluff, VA; four grandchildren, Megan R. Mullins of Cedar Bluff, VA, Cassandra Jones of Cedar Bluff, VA, Christopher Rose of Cedar Bluff, VA; Clarissa Rose of Cedar Bluff, VA; five great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Susan Mullins of Raven, VA; and two sisters, Marlene Compton of Claypool Hill, VA and Wanda Hicks of McGuire Valley, Cedar Bluff, VA. She also left a host of family and friends and was loved by everyone who knew her.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 5, 2013 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be staff of Total Home Care, Rae Quan Jones.
