Mr. and Mrs. W. Robert Beringer of North Tonawanda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of their marriage vows in St. Joseph's Cathedral, followed by a gathering of family and friends in Banchetti's Banquet Hall, Amherst. Beringer and Elvira DiFrancesco were married Oct. 15, 1955, in St. Francis Catholic Church, Town of Tonawanda. He is retired from the North Tonawanda Board of Education; she is retired from DeGraff Memorial Hospital. The couple has three children and five grandchildren (Buffalo Evening News, 12/3/2005)
Obituary of William Beringer BERINGER - William R. "Bob" Age 84, of North Tonawanda, formerly of the City of Tonawanda, September 8, 2015, husband of 60 years of Elvira A. "Babe" (nee DiFrancesco) Beringer; father of Mark (Debra) Beringer, Kent (Carol) Beringer and Laura (Anthony) Bolichetti; grandfather of Andrew, Kristine, Daniel, Ashley and Abbey; brother of Rose (Joseph) Nowak, Helen Beringer, Nicholas "Butch" (late Joan) Beringer, Charles (Charlotte) Beringer and the late Wendel "Lefty," Terry, Joseph "Jessi," Ann, Anthony, John and Francis "Dutch;" also survived by many nieces and nephews. There will be no prior visitation. A private service and entombment will be in St. Francis of Assisi Chapel. Bob had been employed by National Grinding Wheel in North Tonawanda and was a custodian for the North Tonawanda School System. He also was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.
