Obituary of Wendel Beringer:
Wendel Beringer, 68, of 62 Highland Ave., Tonawanda, Wednesday evening (Oct. 17, 1956) at his home after a long illness. Born in Germany, he had lived in Tonawanda the past 50 years and was a capenter until he retired three years ago. He was a member of St. Francis Church. Surviving are his wife Rose (nee Sieber); eight sons, Wendel Jr. of Buffalo, Joseph of the Town of Tonawanda and Anthony, John, Frank, Nicholas, William and Charles, all of Tonawanda, and 12 grandchildren. Friends may call at Hamp Funeral Home, 37 Adam St., where services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and at 9 in St. Francis Church, the Rev. Wilber Yaeger officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery (Tonawanda News, Oct. 19, 1956).
