Louisiana DeWolfe, a daughter of Captain Frederick S. DeWolfe and Laura E. [née Kerr] DeWolfe, was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. Known as Louise, she was named for her maternal grandmother, Louisiana Armstrong DeWolfe.
Her father served as captain of Confederate forces during the Civil war and was a former Mayor of Charlotte. In 1882 the family moved to Seattle.
Louise married Charles Fauntleroy Whittlesey on June 23rd 1886; this union was blessed with three daughters:
Charlotte DeWolfe (1888 – 1936)
Laura DeWolfe (1890 – 1937)
Katherine (1897 – 1899)
Louise DeWolfe Whittlesey was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church and a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew her. She departed this life on September 29th 1933 in the 68th year of her age (findagrave.com)
