Spring Hill, FL, formerly of Edison - George A. Dwyer passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, May 3, 2018. He was 84 years old.

Born in Port Reading, he resided in Edison for many years before moving to Spring Hill, FL 25 years ago.

Mr. Dwyer received a BA/Masters Degree from Seton Hall University and served with the Woodbridge Township Board of Education for 30 years, first as a teacher and eventually retiring as Director of Title 1 and Title 9 for the school district. He proudly served his country with the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army from 1956 until 1958, was a communicant of Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Spring Hill, FL and 4th degree member of Assembly 1721 in Spring Hill, FL.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Julia Pillo Dwyer; sons, George K. Dwyer of Spring Hill, FL, Barry R. Dwyer of Barnegat and Robert J. Dwyer of Addison, NY; and six grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, May 7, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Funeral services will be on Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, a Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Port Reading. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to your favorite charity in George's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
