Kenneth R. Pahl, 18, Route 2, Holgate, died Saturday morning in St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, while undergoing surgery for injuries sustained in a single-car accident on Defiance County's New Bavaria Road.
He was born in Napoleon on September 2, 1967, the son of Jack and Carolyn (Gerken) Pahl, who survive. He had been a diesel mechanic at Defiance Mack Sales and Service, Inc., for one and one-half years. A 1985 graduate of Ayersville High School, he was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Defiance County, where he was an usher.
Also surviving are three brothers, Robert, James and Jeff, all of Route 2; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard W. Gerken of Route 4, Napoleon.
Preceding him in death were grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Urban Pahl.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Stephen Lutheran Church. Rev David F. Sherry will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation at Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon,will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today.
Preferred memorials are to the church, Filling Memorial Home of Mercy or to a charity of the donor's choice.
