Peter M. Terefenko, 76, of Moss Creek Plantation died Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah after a brief illness. A native of Reading, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Paul and Catherine Misura Terefenko. He served in the US Navy in World War II. He moved to Hilton Head Island in 1986 from Dallas, Texas, where he was owner of Cut Machine Tool and Supply Company.
Survivors include his wife, Clara V. Terefenko; two sons, Paul M. of Rose Hill Plantation and Peter C. of Irving, Texas; a daughter, Judith E. Estes of Jacksonville, Florida; a brother, Joseph, and three sisters, Mary Klein, Ann Riegle and Pauline Arnidis, all of Reading; and six grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 tonight at the Island Funeral Home with a Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Pinckney Colony, with burial in Beaufort National Cemetery. The Island Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
