Miguel Felipe Quintana
A Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Rosa-St. Peter Catholic Church in Arboles for Miguel Felipe Quintana, of Aztec, who died of natural causes Tuesday, March 14, 2000. He was 85.
The Rev. John Bowe will officiate. Burial will be at the Rosa Community Cemetery. A Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Quintana was born Sept. 20, 1914, in Rosa, N.M. He started life as a rural farmer in Rosa and then became a store owner in Rosa until it was destroyed by fire. It was the last remaining business in Rosa.
Mr. Quintana went to work in the road maintenance department for the U.S. Department of the Interior in Dulce, N.M., as a heavy-duty mechanic. At the time of his retirement, he was the supervisor in that department.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Quintana of Aztec; two sons, Miguel V. "Billy" Quintana and Pablo "Paul" Quintana, both of Bloomfield; three daughters, Martha Quintana of Arboles, Rosa Quintana McGuire of Farmington, and Vicki Quintana of Bloomfield; three step-children, Debra Stucklen of Loveland, Joel Swadesh of Albuquerque, and Daisy Swadesh of Farmington; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
