Louisa is listed as a patient in the 1901 Guelph census for Canada, and as an inmate in the 1911 census. The 1911 census gives her birth year as 1862, but calculated age tends to vary significantly from one census to another for many people. The 1911 census seems to indicate that she may have been a resident at Homewood. Homewood in Guelph was established ca. 1790 as a treatment center for mental health.
