Born at Wave Crest, Long Island, daughter of Richard Lewis Morris (1875-1954) and Caroline Whitney Fellowes (b 1882). Uncertain where her parents are buried, possibly the Morris vault at St Ann's Episcopal Church of Morrisania in South Bronx or William Fellowes vault at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn. Cornelia is a great-great-granddaughter of Nicholas Fish (1758-1833) who was a friend of Alexander Hamilton. She is also a great-great-granddaughter of President Martin Van Buren. Cornelia married Malcolm Graham Field on 28 April 1933 in Manhattan, New York.
