Obituary - Huntington- Charles Irving Tappen, a prominent member of the New York Petroleum Exchange, died at his home, No. 16 East 126th Street, that city, on Friday last, from typhoid malaria. The deceased was born in Huntington about 45 years ago. He had lived in New York since his boyhood, and was very successful in business. He leaves three young children- his wife having died three months since. The funeral was held at his late residence on Saturday afternoon, and the remains were interred at Huntington on Sunday.
