George S. McFarlane, 71, of 129 E. Madison Ave., Milton, died shortly after being admitted to the University Hospitals, Madison, on Monday, December 1. Mr. McFarlane had been ill with cancer for the past year.

Funeral services were to be held today, Thursday, Dec. 4, at 1:30 p.m. in the Albrecht Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sidney J. Francis, retired minister from Beloit, officiating. Burial was to be in the Milton Cemetery.

He was born in Johnstown, Rock County, August 18, 1898, the son of Peter and Hettie McFarlane, and had been an area resident all of his life. He was engaged in farming in the Johnstown area for many years and was also associated with the Parish and Bailey Pharmacy in Janesville.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Mrs. Janice Cope of Pittsford, New York, and a son, Peter McFarlane, Woodbridge, New Jersey, and four grandchildren (findagrave)
