Hugh the Great, Marquis of Orleans, Duke of France and Burgundy, Count of Paris, Valois and Vermandois. Lady Adelheid was Hugh Magnus' third wife (Browning, Charles. Americans of royal descent, 7th ed. Baltimore : Genealogical Pub. Co., 1969, pg. 67). Browning has (page 67) the marriage date as 938, but this is clearly too early. Browning also lists their daughter Isabel de Vermandois' death date as 1131. See Williamson, David. Debrett's kings and queens of Europe : Topsfield, Mass : Salem House Publishers, c1988. This source lists Hugh Magnus' father Henry I as being born 1008 and marrying Hugh's mother Lady Anne in 1051, placing Hugh's probable birthdate at around 1055 (Williamson, pg. 66).
Commanded the French pilgrims in the first Crusade (Browning, Charles H. Americans of royal descent, 7th ed. Baltimore : Genealogical Pub. Co., 1986, pg. 444).
