Veldon Glen Miller, 81, of Iona, Idaho, died Saturday, February 18, 2012, at his home of natural causes, surrounded by his family.

He was born August 18, 1930, in Tooele, Utah, to Joel Andrew and Zona Mary Taylor Miller. He grew up in Shelley and attended Shelley High School

He married Eldora Margene Fife in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on May 23, 1950. She died November 5, 2005. He married Linda Faye Phelps on August 11, 2007, who was a godsend throughout the remainder of his mortal life. They were sealed on June 20, 2009 in the Rexburg LDS Temple.

His early years were spent farming and trucking in Washington, Utah and Idaho, settling in Iona in 1965. He worked as a trucker, dairyman, mechanic, and farmer. He was a bus driver for the INL for 25 years, serving as Union President for over 10 years.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a Sunday School teacher, temple worker, and a faithful home teacher. In 1994, he served a mission for the Deseret Cattle Ranch in Florida. He was the project manager for the construction of the Martin's Cove Visitors Center, and he and ElDora served several other missions within a six year span from1994-2000.

He was a horse show judge and a well known horse trainer and farrier. He participated in horse showing, reigning, flat track racing, and chariot racing.

He was a man of integrity who enjoyed serving others, and most of all he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Stepdaughter, Alexis Cantrell of Eureka, California
25 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Eldora Miller, his parents and three brothers

The family would like to thank the staff of Hearts for Hospice for their tender care.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2012, at the Iona LDS Church, 4707 E. Iona Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at the Iona Cemetery.
